Position Summary
The Construction Finance Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the operational and financial administration of construction lending projects from loan closing through final payoff. This role collaborates closely with Construction Loan Officers, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, builders, borrowers, title companies, and inspectors to ensure accurate funding, effective risk management, and a seamless construction lending experience.
Key Responsibilities
The individual in this role will:
- Analyze loan documentation to verify all construction loan conditions and requirements have been met before loans are boarded and funded.
- Manage and process construction draw requests, ensuring compliance with approved budgets and internal lending guidelines.
- Review inspection reports, budget allocations, lien documentation, title information, and available funding balances prior to disbursement.
- Serve as a primary point of coordination between borrowers, builders, contractors, inspectors, and title companies throughout the life of each construction project.
- Assist with portfolio monitoring activities, including monthly reviews, exception tracking, and risk assessment initiatives.
- Support regulatory examinations, compliance reviews, internal audits, and external audit requests.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Construction Loan Administrators and other operational support team members.
- Maintain accurate construction loan records and ensure timely resolution of documentation or funding issues.
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Two or more years of experience in construction lending, loan administration, loan operations, commercial lending support, or a related banking function.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction loan servicing, draw administration, inspections, lien waivers, title insurance, and construction loan documentation.
- Strong understanding of collateral documentation requirements and loan compliance standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and data analysis.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with a strong attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build productive working relationships.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional travel and varying workload demands.
