Job Description
This position requires the ability to train on 1st shift before transferring over to 3rd shift full time.
We are seeking a skilled Heat Treatment Operator Supervisor. As a Heat Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring heat treatment equipment to ensure the precise and effective transformation of materials, enhancing their mechanical properties. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of heat treatment processes, metallurgy, and safety protocols. You would be in charge of 2-3 people and may be required to operate a forklift as needed. Previous forklift and leadership experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heat treatment equipment such as furnaces, ovens, and quenching tanks to achieve specified material properties.
- Monitor and control heat treatment processes according to established procedures, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Load and unload materials into the heat treatment equipment, ensuring proper placement and arrangement for uniform treatment.
- Conduct inspections of materials before and after heat treatment to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on heat treatment equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with the production team to schedule and prioritize heat treatment processes based on production requirements.
- Document and record key process parameters, material specifications, and results of heat treatment processes accurately.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve heat treatment processes, efficiency, and overall quality.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heat Treatment Operator or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment principles, and related processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in executing heat treatment processes.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for equipment maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
