Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle across long-haul routes.
- Transport freight to various customer locations throughout assigned regions.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Secure cargo properly using appropriate equipment and safety procedures.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel usage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and industry safety standards.
- Handle paperwork such as bills of lading, delivery confirmations, and expense reports.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license required.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of OTR driving experience preferred (company may adjust as needed).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules.
- Ability to drive long distances and remain on the road for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift, secure, and maneuver cargo as needed.
